Kenny Tallies Five as Seminoles Down Kent State 14-5

4/7/2026 2:36:00 PM | Women's Lacrosse

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State lacrosse team (4-11) secured its first road win in program history with a 14-5 victory over Kent State (6-7) on Tuesday afternoon at Dix Stadium.

Sophomore Meg Kenny led the way for FSU, tying a program record with six points and matching the single-game record with five goals. The outing marked her first career five-goal game and her seventh multi-goal performance of the season.

Freshman attacker Summer Harrell also tied a program record with six points, recording a career-high four assists to go along with two goals. Her four assists mark just the second time this season a Seminole has reached that total in a single game.

Sophomore midfielder Lydia Ward added four points with two goals and two assists, notching her team-leading third multi-assist game of the year.

Florida State featured a balanced offensive effort with seven different goal scorers. Junior midfielder Alyssa Deacy recorded her third two-goal game of the season, while freshmen Amelia Brite, Brynn Perkins, and Emily Barnett each found the back of the net.
Junior attacker Faith Wooters matched her career high with eight draw controls, while senior defender Superia Clark led the defense with career highs in both caused turnovers (4) and ground balls (5). Clark continues to lead the team with 23 caused turnovers on the season.

As a team, the Seminoles set single-game highs in assists (10), shots on goal (30), and clears (25).

Florida State wasted no time getting on the board, scoring its fastest goal of the season just 46 seconds into the game as Harrell connected with Brite. Kenny followed with the first of her five goals, assisted by Ward, before Ward added another goal less than one minute later off a feed from Kenny. Wooters then found Deacy cutting to the goal, and Kenny added another score to cap a 5-0 run in the opening 6:45. Kent State closed the quarter with two goals to make it 5-2.

Deacy opened the second quarter scoring with her second goal of the game, and after a six-minute scoring drought, Kenny completed her first-half hat trick to extend the lead to 7-2. Both teams traded goals in the final minute of the half, giving Florida State an 8-3 advantage at the break.

Ward opened the second half with a goal, driving from the 8-meter arc to the crease for a goal less than two minutes in. Kent State responded, but the Seminoles answered with the final two goals of the quarter to take an 11-4 lead into the fourth.

Kenny added her fifth goal early in the fourth quarter, courtesy of Harrell's fourth assist of the game. Barnett converted a free-position opportunity, and Perkins added an unassisted goal en route to the 14-5 win.

Florida State will have a week off before closing out the regular season at home against No. 11 Clemson on Thursday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex.
