Tasha Fisher was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Governance and Compliance in July 2022. In that role, she oversees FSU’s compliance and governance as well as serving as the department’s primary liaison with the NCAA and as the sport oversight for cross country and track & field.
Fisher is in her 13th year at Florida State after joining the athletics department in January of 2013 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. She primarily oversaw the compliance areas of eligibility and amateurism while assisting in the day-to-day operations of the compliance office. She has nearly 25 years of experience working full-time in intercollegiate athletics at NCAA Division I institutions.
Prior to arriving at FSU, Fisher was the Assistant Athletics Director for Academics & Compliance/SWA at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). During her time at ULM, she was responsible for overseeing compliance, academic support services for student-athletes, and student-athlete welfare. Fisher also served as the sport oversight for men’s golf, women’s golf, women’s soccer, softball, and volleyball at ULM.
Fisher began her career in intercollegiate athletics in 2002 at her alma mater, New Mexico State University, and also spent time at Texas Tech University as the Red Raiders' eligibility coordinator during the 2007-08 academic year.
Fisher is an active member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC), where she serves on the Advancement Subcommittee and maintains NAAC Education Certification. She is also a member of the Women’s Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA) and is a graduate of the organization’s 2015 Institute for Administrative Advancement East. Additionally, she is currently serving on the ACC Constitution & Bylaws Committee.
She earned her bachelor's degree in accountancy from New Mexico State in 2002 and completed her Master's of Business Administration from Florida State in 2019.
A native of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, Tasha is married to Earl Fisher and has two stepchildren, Matthew and Caroline, and five grandchildren.
