CARY, N.C. – The 11th ranked Florida State women’s tennis team (19-5, 11-3 ACC) begins play at the ACC Tournament against No. 22 Wake Forest (19-7, 9-5 ACC) in the quarterfinals. The match is at 6:00 pm at the Duke Indoor Tennis Courts.
Florida State trails the all-time series with Wake Forest 20-21 but is 13-5 against Wake under head coach Jennifer Hyde. Wake Forest is led by their 34th ranked singles player Emma Davis. Davis is 14-8 this spring with all of her matches on court one. She is 11-11 against nationally ranked opponents including a straight-set win over Georgia Tech’s 11th ranked Kenya Jones. Davis also teams up with Chandler Carter to form the nation’s 34th ranked doubles pair. The two are 15-8 this spring with all their matches on court one and a 7-7 record against ranked opponents.

The then 20th ranked Florida State women’s tennis team upset 14th ranked Wake Forest 5-2 at home. Florida State won the doubles point and then earned wins on courts one, two, five and six. Senior Ariana Rahmanparast was the first done with a straight-set win on court five. Senior Ana Oparenovic followed her up with a straight-set win of her own on court two. Junior Andrea Garcia clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win on court six. Junior Carla Touly won on court one in three sets to cap off the match.

In the latest Oracle/ITA poll, Florida State comes in at No. 11. This marks the 25th straight week that the Noles have been ranked in the ITA Poll dating back to February 10, 2018.
The Seminoles have one ranked singles player in 26th ranked Carla Touly. They also have one ranked doubles pair in 31st ranked Ana Oparenovic and Emmanuelle Salas.
