TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (24-4) takes on Southern Miss, Tulane and No. 7 TCU this weekend in Gulf Shores, Ala.
The Seminoles are hosting the tournament at the Hangout. Each team will play each other once and the two teams that finish the weekend with the best record after three matches will play each other Sunday afternoon. The teams with the third and fourth best records will play each other then as well.
There is also a pairs tournament happening at the same time with all of the pairs that are not a part of each team’s dual match lineup.
Florida State starts the weekend at 10:00 am ET on Saturday, April 17 against Southern Miss. FSU and USM have met twice with Florida State winning both matchups 5-0. The two teams met during the first weekend of the 2021 season.
The Seminoles finish day one of the tournament at 2:00 pm ET against No. 7 TCU. The Garnet and Gold and the Horned Frogs have collided 10 times with FSU coming away with victories in all 10 meetings, including seven sweeps. Florida State is 2-0 against TCU this season with a 5-0 and a 4-1 win.
Day two starts at 10:00 am ET for the Seminoles as they take on Tulane. FSU and Tulane have met 13 times with Florida State winning every meeting. The Seminoles have never surrendered a court to the Green Wave, including a 5-0 win earlier this season.
The weekend gets capped off with the two best teams from the weekend facing off at 1:30 pm ET and teams three and four playing at 3:00 pm ET.
