After leading the Fighting Irish to the 2022 College World Series and an 86-22 record in three seasons, head coach Link Jarrett, pitching coach Chuck Ristano, recruiting coordinator Rich Wallace and assistant coach Brad Vanderglas will return to South Bend for the first time since being hired at Florida State last summer.

After an unfortunate cancellation, due to weather, Tuesday night against Stetson, the Seminoles are back on the road to face another ACC opponent. The Fighting Irish enter the contest coming off a sweep of No. 13 Virginia, while FSU lost two-of-three against Virginia Tech.

Sophomore Jackson Baumeister is set to make his 11th start of the season for game one of the series against Notre Dame on Friday night. Last weekend, Baumeister struck out nine batters in 5.0 innings, his second-most in a game this year, behind his 14 against Clemson earlier this month.

Conner Whittaker will start for the Noles in Saturday’s contest for his fifth time this season. Whittaker pitched for 5.0 innings, where he struck out four batters, and has thrown for at least 5.0 innings in all of his starts this season.

Sophomore Jaime Ferrer leads the FSU offense with a .348 batting average through thirty-nine games. Last weekend against Virginia Tech, Ferrer recorded two doubles in the second game of the series, his 17th multi-hit game, and a single in the final game of the series. He currently leads the team with 57 hits.

Also on offense, James Tibbs III was 2-for-4 with his team-high 12th home run of the season, in the final game of the series against Virginia Tech. He currently leads FSU with 34 RBI and 43 runs; hitting in the leadoff spot for the first time in his career, Tibbs had a leadoff hit in all three games against the Hokies.

FSU leads the all-time series with Notre Dame 21-14. The Noles won 2-of-3 against the Irish in South Bend in 2021.
