Tallahassee, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Loris Pourroy, the 52nd-ranked singles player in the country, will compete in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship beginning on May 23.

“I’m really proud that he made the NCAA Tournament,” head coach Dwayne Hultquist said. “It’s very well deserved. He’s been terrific this spring and been competitive every day in the ACC.”

A two-time ACC Player of the Week winner this season, Pourroy has been ranked in the ITA Singles rankings since February 23, reaching as high as No. 44. Pourroy has played all matches on court one for the Seminoles this spring, earning 14 wins, including victories over six ranked singles opponents.

Most recently, Pourroy defeated No. 57 Axel Nefve from Notre Dame in the second round of the ACC Tournament to clinch the match for the Seminoles and advance to the quarterfinals.

This will be Pourroy’s first individual appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Information for the NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Championship can be found here.
