Lovemore Recognized as Swimmer of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State senior Tayla Lovemore was selected as the ACC Swimmer of the Week by collegeswimming.com., which was announced on Tuesday.

“Tayla had an incredible meet,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “She is such a tough competitor and she races with a ton of heart. I am really proud of her and I can’t wait to see how the end of her senior season turns out.”

Lovemore brought home three wins at the Georgia Tech Invite in addition to leading the Seminoles in the sprint events.

Individually, Lovemore competed in four ‘A’ finals, winning the 100 fly with a time of 52.03, which is currently the fifth fastest time in the nation.

She posted a personal best time in the 100 free of 49.18 finishing in sixth place. Her swim ranks as the fourth fastest in Florida State history.

Lovemore also finished fifth in both the 50 free with a time of 22.56 and 200 fly at 2:00.24.

Lovemore was also a key part on relays, helping the Noles set a new school record and qualify for the NCAA Championships in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:28.49, which is the second fastest time in the nation this season.

The Durban, South Africa native also swam the fly leg on the medley relays that earned NCAA provisional standards, including the 400 medley relay that was victorious with a mark of 3:33.45.
