- Saturday’s game marks the second consecutive year the Seminoles and Cougars (1-2) meet. Last year, Houston defeated FSU in Tallahassee, 78-68, despite FSU getting a career-best 16 points from guard O’Mariah Gordon.
- Former Florida State Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach Ronald Hughey leads the Cougars in his ninth season. Hughey was a key part of FSU’s coaching staff from 2012-14, which included two straight seasons where the Seminoles reached the NCAA Second Round.
- Florida State freshman guard Ta’Niya Latson recorded her second 30+ point performance this season, leading the Seminoles to a 92-77 win over rival Florida on Wednesday with 32 points, five rebounds and four assists. In only four career games played, she becomes just the 10th Seminole to record multiple 30-point games in a season and the first since Imani Wright in 2017-18.
- The Seminoles are coming off a phenomenal stretch of shooting in the second half in their rivalry win over UF. In the second half, FSU went 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) from the floor, including going 8-of-11 in the fourth quarter when it outscored the Gators 23-14.
- Having swept ACC Player and Rookie of the Week honors this past Tuesday, Ta’Niya Latson is the first player to win both awards since Notre Dame’s Brianna Turner swept the weekly awards on Jan. 19, 2015.
- For the second time this season, Florida State produced five double-figure scorers in a game when it defeated Florida on Wednesday. Latson (32), sophomore Mariana Valenzuela (13), sophomore Makayla Timpson (13), graduate Jazmine Massengill (12) and sophomore O’Mariah Gordon (12) each put up 10+ points in the win.
- Saturday’s meeting between Houston and FSU will be just the second in series history, with the Cougars owning a 1-0 edge.
- Florida State is averaging 17.8 fast break points this season.

- FSU out-scored the Gators 50-28 in the paint on Wednesday night. For the season, the Seminoles have averaged 45.0 points in the paint per game.

- Ta’Niya Latson’s 27 free throw attempts this season rank 11th nationally.
- In last year’s matchup vs. Houston, Makayla Timpson had a strong game off the bench with 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting in 29 minutes of action.
- With 7.2 blocked shots per game, the Seminoles rank eighth in the country and are second in the ACC behind only Syracuse (8.0).
