45 of the 60 teams ranked in the USTFCCCA will be competing in Madison

Tallahassee, Fla.-  The Florida State cross country teams will be racing in the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

Due to the weather conditions, the women's 'A' 6K will start at 12 p.m. and the men's 8K will follow at 12:40 p.m.

The meet will feature 45 of the 60 ranked teams in the USTFCCCA, including the 19th-ranked FSU men's team.

"This is the best meet of the regular season," FSU men's head coach Bob Braman said. "Eight of the top 10 teams ranked are here. Wins over any ranked team will be huge for postseason selection next month.  This is a great rehearsal for nationals, so we want to compete our tails off and see where we are going into that championship season."

"Coach Braman said it best," FSU women's head coach Cody Halsey said. "This is the best meet of the regular season. The women are in a really good spot. I think we have the opportunity to surprise some people tomorrow."

At the Joe Piane Invitational, the Noles knocked off three ranked teams and finished eight points behind No. 9 Notre Dame. It was the best finish for the men's team at the historic meet since 2011, when FSU also placed second. FSU jumped to No. 19 in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll, which is the highest ranking since week five of 2021.

David Mullarkey was the third different runner to lead FSU this season and second to take home Performer of the Week honors following the 5-mile race at the Joe Piane Invitational where he was fifth (23:24.8). Abdirizak Ibrahim won the 8K at the Firetower Project Run and was named ACC Performer of the Week and Matthew Neill took home the title in the 8k at the Covered Bridge Open.

Alyson Churchill has steadily led the women's team, winning both races in Boone, N.C. and taking home ACC Performer of the Week accolades behind personal best times. The Tallahassee native finished third at the Joe Piane Invitational in the 5K (16:15.1).

Live timing will be available and the meet will be streamed by RunnerSpace.
