Noles Clinch One Seed at East Lake Cup, Prepare for Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) - The 15th-ranked Florida State Men's Golf team clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming match play semifinals at the East Lake Cup on Monday at Atlanta Athletic Club.
The Seminoles recorded a 5-under team score against second-place North Carolina (-3), third-place Georgia Tech (+2) and fourth-place Florida (+4). Florida State and rival Florida get set to play again in the match-play semifinals on Tuesday beginning at 12:20 p.m. - a rematch of this past year's NCAA Semifinals.
Live coverage of Tuesday's match-play semifinal will be available on the Golf Channel from 3-6 p.m.
Sophomore Luke Clanton and senior Gray Albright both tied for fourth in the stroke-play standings at 2-under apiece on Monday. Albright was aided by a clean back nine where he recorded two birdies and seven pars to finish his round strong. Clanton did his damage on the front nine, shooting a 34 with two birdies.
Senior Frederik Kjettrup tied for sixth at 1-under, securing four birdies on the day and shaking off a double bogey. Fellow senior Brett Roberts tied for eighth at even par.
Freshman Tyler Weaver shot a 2-over and tied for 13th.
