Five Noles Score in 6-0 Win Over Boston College

10/8/2023 3:40:00 PM | Women's Soccer

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 2 Florida State women's soccer team (10-0-1,5-0-1) dominated in a 6-0 win over Boston College (3-9-2, 0-6-0) on Sunday afternoon in front of a near capacity crowd at Seminole Soccer Complex. This marks the Seminole's fourth straight win over the Eagles, and FSU has outscored the Eagles 16-1 in the last three meetings.

The Seminoles struck early in the first half with Jordynn Dudley scoring her eighth goal of the season in the sixth minute of play. Onyi Echegini and Jody Brown were credited with the assists. After an early start, neither team was able to get anything going until Kaitlyn Zipay scored her first goal of the season and just the third goal of her career in the 42nd minute of play. The Seminoles held a 7-3 shots advantage and a 2-1 advantage on corner kicks at the midway point.

The Seminoles came into the second half swinging as Dudley took a shot that hit off the top post and Beata Olsson had a great look just five minutes into the half. It did not take long for the Seminoles to convert as Leilanni Nesbeth scored via a pass by Dudley which was followed by a goal from Taylor Huff assisted by Olsson, both coming ten minutes after the break.

The Seminoles continued the pressure and did not allow the Eagles any chances to make a comeback. FSU dominated in both the shooting game and possession, outshooting Boston College 24-4 with 17 of the Seminole's shots coming in the second and holding possession of the ball for 66% of the game.

Peyton Nourse closed the game out with her first career goal in the 77th minute, which was immediately followed by her scoring again in the 79th minute. This win continues the Seminoles' undefeated streak at home against Boston College.

Florida State will continue to play at home next Thursday as they take on No. 11 Notre Dame. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and available to watch on the ACC Network.
