Valenzuela Expected To Miss 2023-24 Season Due to Injury

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State Women's Basketball rising junior forward Mariana Valenzuela is expected to miss the 2023-24 season after sustaining a recent knee injury.
The injury occurred on July 2 at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup in a game between Valenzuela's home country of Mexico vs. Canada in León, Mexico.
Valenzuela has emerged as one of the ACC's best knock-down shooters. She shot 49.7 percent (72-of-145) from the floor last season in helping the Seminoles to their 10th consecutive NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
