ITA Southeast Regional Championships Begin

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State men's tennis team will compete at the 2024 ITA Men's Southeast Regional Championships in Athens, Georgia beginning on Wednesday.
FSU will have seven players represented in the main draw of the singles championship with Justin Lyons and Elias Sumann entering through the qualifying round. Jamie Connel, Youcef Rihane, and Erik Schiessl enter the tournament as seeded competitors.
FSU will have all ten players represented in the main draw of the doubles championship with four seeded pairs. The seeded pairs receive an automatic bye into the Round of 32. Corey Craig and Elias Sumann will make their competitive doubles debut in the Round of 64.
The two singles finalists from the singles competition will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship while the doubles champions will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
Craig punched his ticket to the NCAA Singles Championship after advancing to the ITA All-Americans quarterfinal round. He defeated two top-100 opponents in the qualifying round before defeating the No. 22 and No.33 players in the nation. His incredible run included five wins in five days and came to a close in the quarterfinal round after falling to the eventual champion of the event.
The singles and doubles qualifying rounds begin tomorrow.
