No. 12 Noles Head to East Lake Cup

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 12 Florida State men's golf team will compete at the East Lake Cup from Oct. 28-30 to close out the 2024 portion of the season.
Modeled after the NCAA Golf Championships, the format for the East Lake Cup consists of an opening round of stroke play on Monday to crown an individual champion and determine seeding for the following two days of match play competition, that will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Seminoles will compete against No. 2 Auburn, No. 11 Georgia Tech and RV Ohio State with the team of Patrick McCann, Carson Brewer, Jack Bigham, Tyler Weaver and Luke Clanton.
McCann will make his first start of the season on Monday, teeing off for the Noles at 11:42 a.m. Coverage will start at 3 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
Week 42 Rankings
Clanton remained at the top of World Amateur Golf Rankings in Week 42. Bigham stayed at No. 51, while Gray Albright moved up three spots to 60th. Weaver moved up one spot to 94th.
Albright remained in 17th place in the PGA Tour U Rankings.
Last Time Out
The Seminoles finished fifth at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in fifth place at 31-over par at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Weaver turned the top finish, placing third at 1-over par. Weaver secured a season-best 67 in the first round.
Clanton tied for 14th, scoring 6-over ahead of Bigham at 10-over.
