TALLAHASSEE – Amy Bond, who led Florida State to the team championship of the Landfall Tradition earlier this week, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award – the most prestigious award presented annually by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The award is given in recognition of outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty.

Bond will be recognized on Monday, December 9, 2024 at the WGCA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Las Vegas, Nev.

"I am honored to be chosen as the recipient of the 2025 Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award," said Bond. "To be recognized by my peers as someone deserving of this award is truly special. Service to others is something I take pride in, and I believe it's important for us all. I have been blessed over the years by so many people, and giving back to others gives me my purpose. Words cannot express my gratitude for the opportunities I have been given. I am grateful to receive this award."

The Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award honors individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the evolution and growth of women's collegiate golf.

Bond served as WGCA President from 2013-16 and previously represented the association as the Treasurer and Vice President.  She has since returned to serve on the WGCA Board of Directors as Associate Vice President in 2024.  She served on the Board of Directors from 2008 until 2018.

Bond has also served on the USGA Intercollegiate Relations Committee and has been a member of the Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll Voting Committee and the WGCA Division I Awards Committee.

Bond, the winningest women's golf coach in school history, is in her 15th season as the head coach at Florida State. Under her leadership, the Seminoles are one of only four teams in the nation that has played in each of the last eight NCAA Championship Finals. She has won 21 tournament championships and coached three Olympians, three ACC Golfers of the Year, 28 All-ACC selections, 19 WGCA All-Americans, and 33 WGCA All-American Scholars during her tenure at Florida State.

This season, Bond reinstated a birdie campaign where her own money is donated to various charities to help with the hurricane relief efforts. For every birdie her team tallied during the fall season, she will donate $10; for every eagle, she donates $25. She previously ran similar campaigns following the devastation of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Michael. Since 2019, she has participated in the annual fundraiser "Play the Hole with Coach Amy" where teams or individuals can play a hole with her to raise funds for Florida State's beach volleyball team. Bond is also a supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Association. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes as a senior in high school, and today she mentors young diabetics and their parents and teaches them that they can still do anything they set their minds to.
