Noles Fall to Walk-Off Home Run

The teams traded runs until the Eagles took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. Max Williams hit a two-run homer to cut the lead to 5-4 in the seventh, and after the Eagles plated a run in the bottom of the inning, the Noles tied the game with two runs in the eighth inning.
Cameron Leary hit a walk-off home run to end the game in the 11th inning.
Alex Lodise returned to the starting lineup and led FSU with three hits, including the game-tying RBI single in the eighth inning and a double in the 11th. Williams, James Tibbs and Daniel Cantu added two hits each.

- James Tibbs III doubled in his first two at-bats, extending his hitting streak to five games. In that stretch, Tibbs is hitting .650 (13-for-20) with three doubles, three home runs, nine RBI, seven runs and three walks, with just one strikeout. Tibbs is hitting .422 on the season, tops on the team.
- In ACC games, Tibbs is hitting .425 over 11 games.
- Cam Smith drew a walk in the fifth inning, his 40th consecutive game reaching base; he is the 23rd Seminole in history with a 40-game on-base streak. Smith's 40-game on-base streak is the longest since current New York Met DJ Stewart reached safely in 65 straight between 2013-2014.
- Jaime Ferrer plated Tibbs in the third inning with a single. Ferrer has reached safely in 36 consecutive games. Ferrer also was hit by a pitch for the 10th time this year, most on the team. His 39 career HBP are 8th-most in FSU history.
- Max Williams hit his fourth home run of the season and second in ACC play. FSU has hit a home run in 26 of 30 games this year. Williams' two RBI tied a career high; it was his fifth multi-RBI game this season.
- Starting pitcher Conner Whittaker pitched 5.0 innings, his 14th outing of at least 5.0 innings in 15 career starts.
- Whittaker and Alex Lodise teamed up for a pickoff in the third inning, Whittaker's second of the year.
- Daniel Cantu doubled and was hit by two pitches. Cantu has been hit by 43 pitches in his career, top-20 nationally among active players. The two HBP tied a career high.
- Florida State hit a season-high seven doubles, most since February 19, 2022, vs. James Madison.
- Saturday was FSU's first extra-inning game of the season.
