Florida State had the week off following their series win at No. 6-ranked Duke.

The last time the Wolfpack came to Tallahassee, Jaime Ferrer hit a walk-off home run in the 17th inning to win the series for FSU. The game was the second of a doubleheader as the teams combined for 26 innings that Sunday. It was the fourth game in FSU history to reach the 17th inning or later.

At Duke last weekend, the bats continued to fire as Ferrer opened up the series with a three-run blast, followed by a solo home run on Saturday. His 14 home runs include nine in ACC play, most on the team. Ferrer's double on Sunday extended his hitting streak to a team-high seven games.

Cam Smith's single in the first inning of Sunday's contest stretched his on-base streak to 53 consecutive games, tied with Doug Mientkiewicz (1994-95) for the eighth-longest streak in program history. James Tibbs III doubled and hit a home run in the series finale; his 18 home runs leads the team and Tibbs's 15 doubles are one shy of the team lead. Tibbs' 45 career home runs are tied for ninth in FSU history (Ed Fulton, 1985-87).

On the mound, Connor Hults earned his third save of the season Friday, tying Brennen Oxford and Carson Dorsey for the team lead. Dorsey earned his first win as a starter and freshman John Abraham earned his first career save to clinch the series for the Seminoles. Abraham is the seventh Seminole with a save this year.

After getting swept by Louisville to begin April, NC State has won three straight weekend series, including ACC tilts against No. 2 Clemson and No. 11 North Carolina.
