No. 5 Seed Men’s Golf Begins NCAA Championships on Friday

TALLAHASSEE – No. 5 seed Florida State Men's Golf begins its run at the NCAA Championships on Friday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. FSU's opening tee time begins with graduate golfer Cole Anderson at 3:22 p.m. ET/12:22 p.m. PT.
The Seminoles bring Anderson, senior Brett Roberts (3:33 p.m. ET on Friday), senior Gray Albright (3:44 p.m. ET), senior Frederik Kjettrup (3:55 p.m. ET) and sophomore Luke Clanton (4:06 p.m. ET) as their starting five to California. ACC Freshman of the Year Tyler Weaver is also on the travel list.
FSU will play three stroke-play rounds on Friday-Sunday, where it must finish in the Top 15 at the end of Sunday's round to continue.
GOLF Channel coverage begins in Monday's final stroke-play round, where FSU needs to finish in the Top 8 to advance to match play. Coverage starts on Monday with Golf Today from 4-6 p.m. ET, followed by live coverage from 6-10 p.m. ET.
Tuesday's quarterfinal and semifinal match play coverage begins once again with Golf Today from 4-6 p.m. ET, and more live coverage from 6-10 p.m. ET.
Wednesday's championship match coverage by GOLF Channel includes Golf Today from 4-5:30 p.m. ET, Golf Central Pregame from 5:30-6 p.m. ET and live coverage from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. ET.
For the third time in the last four years, Florida State Men's Golf enters the NCAA Championships as a Top 10 overall seed. FSU is fifth this season, and was No. 7 in 2023 as well as No. 1 in 2021.
The Seminoles make their 29th appearance at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships, including their fourth consecutive which marks the second-longest streak under Head Coach Trey Jones. Since 2010, FSU has made it to the NCAA's Final 30 11 times, including its upcoming 2024 appearance.
FSU reached the NCAA Championships after shooting its second-lowest postseason score vs. par at the Stanford Regional, carding a 28-under total to finish second in the regional.
Florida State owns three match-play victories this season, defeating No. 10 seed Arizona, 3-2, to win the Jackson Stephens Cup. FSU also defeated No. 12 seed Florida, 3-2, at the East Lake Cup and took down No. 13 seed Georgia Tech, 3-0, in the ACC Championship Semifinals.
Clanton is producing one of the best single seasons in program history, on track for the lowest scoring average ever at FSU with a 69.08 mark. Clanton is a Jack Nicklaus Award finalist and was a Ben Hogan Award Semifinalist for the national golfer of the year.
