After splitting the two-game set with No. 20 NC State last weekend, Florida State bounced back thanks to Lance Trippel's single to walk-off Jacksonville in the 11th inning Tuesday night. It was FSU's first walk-off win and first extra-innings win of the season. The Seminoles swept Jacksonville for the first time since 2018 and hold a 14-0 record over in-state opponents this season.
Also Tuesday, Jordan Williams earned his first start of the year and recorded his first multi-hit game of the season with two singles. Meanwhile, DeAmez Ross ripped his first home run of the season over the right field wall.

Relief pitchers Joe Charles and Brennen Oxford each sat down three batters in 2.0+ inning efforts with no extra base hits conceded between the two. John Abraham earned his third win of the season, over 2.0 frames of work he allowed just one hit in extra innings.

Cam Smith extended his on-base streak to 56 games, the seventh-longest in FSU history. The streak spans a full calendar year, going back to May 5, 2023, in a win over Mercer. Smith leads the team in batting average (.386), runs (60), and hits (73) and rests inside the top-25 nationally in runs and hits.

Out of the eight players that have played in over 40 games, five are hitting over .300. The Seminoles rank top-25 nationally in home runs, hits per game, doubles per game, and runs. They are top-20 in home runs per game and scoring, top-15 in batting average, slugging, and shutouts, and top-5 in fielding percentage.
Pitt is led by former Florida State player and assistant coach Mike Bell, now in his sixth season leading the Panthers. Bell and FSU head coach Link Jarrett were teammates at FSU in 1993 and 1994.

FSU won two of three against the Panthers in Tallahassee last season.
