TALLAHASSEE – Four-time All-American Lottie Woad, who helped lead the Great Britain & Ireland team to the Curtis Cup championship on Sunday at the Sunningdale Golf Club in Sunningdale, England, has been named to the ANNIKA Award Fall Watch List. Woad is one of 25 of the nation's top women's collegiate golfers who begin the season in consideration for the sports' top individual honor.
Woad led the GB&I team to the Curtis Cup Championship as she finished with a 1-1-2 record for 2.0 points earned. The All-American and winner of the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur tournament made her first appearance in the prestigious Curtis Cup against the United States in 2024. The win in 2024 for the GB&I team was its first against the United States since 2016.
Woad, a junior, was first named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List as a freshman in the fall of 2022. She has been named to the Watch List for the award as a freshman, sophomore, and junior and finished as the runner-up for the award in 2024.
"It's humbling to be named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List," said Woad. "There are some many great collegiate golfers who have earned many of the same opportunities that I have been fortunate to be blessed with in my career. All the players on the list are always at the top pf the leaderboards in tournaments around the country and the world, so I have become quite familiar with many of them."
Woad enjoyed incredible individual and team success this past spring and summer.
Woad won the Augusta National Women's Amateur in April, finished as the runner-up in the NCAA Division I Championship, played in the three LPGA major tournaments including the US Open, led the England Women's Team to the championship of the R&A Home Internationals, and the GB&I Team to the Curtis Cup championship.
The 2024 ACC Golfer of the Year, Woad earned All-American First-Team honors by the WGCA , All-American Second-Team Honors as named by Golfweek in 2023, and earned All-American First-Team honors in 2024 as named by the WGCA and Golfweek. She was named the National Freshman of the Year by the WGCA in 2023 as she became the second freshman in school history to earn National Freshman of the Year honors after Frida Kinhult earned the honor in 2019.
Florida State plays its third event of the fall season at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Oct. 21-23) at the Oklamoha City Golf and Country Club. She is averaging 69.60 strokes through the Seminoles' first two events of the season.
