McCray V Leads Seminoles Against Georgia In ACC/SEC Challenge

TALLAHASSEE – Robert McCray V scored a team-high 18 points and Chauncey Wiggins added 15 in Florida State's 107-73 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Donald L. Tucker Center. McCray V led the Seminoles in scoring for the second time in his Seminole career while Wiggins surpassed the 100 made 3-point shots mark. He has made 101 long range shots during his career.
The Seminoles fell to 5-3 and suffered their first loss in the Tucker Center. The Bulldogs improved to 8-1.
Georgia led by 13 points, 23-10, at the 9:58 mark of the first half. McCray V sparked an 8-0 Florida State's run, which was capped by Lajae Jones' first 3-point make of the game. The 8-0 run by the Seminoles cut the lead to five, 23-18, with 8:45 left in the first half.
The Bulldogs led 49-30 going into the second half.
The Seminoles scored 43 points in the second half. Four of their eight made 3-point shots came in the second half.
Sophomore guard Martin Somerville made two 3-point shots in the second half and finished with eight points. He is Florida State's team leader with 20 made 3-point shots on the season. Somerville has made at least one 3-point shot in every game this season.
Senior Kobe MaGee also scored all eight of his points in the second half and finished the game with two steals, which tied for the team lead.
AJ Swinton finished the game with six points and two steals in 14 minutes of playing time.
Senior Shah Muhammad finished the game with four points and one blocked shot.
Georgia's Jeremiah Wilkinson led all scorers with 22 points, four assists, one block, and one steal. It marked the third time Wilkinson has led the Bulldogs in scoring this season.
The Seminoles travel to Houston to take on the Houston Cougars Saturday, December 6, in the Houston Hoops Showdown.
