Seminoles Set For Action-Packed Weekend

2/13/2025 10:17:00 AM | Women's Tennis

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's tennis team has a three-match slate scheduled for this weekend beginning Friday when the Seminoles hit the road to Tampa, for a dual with USF at noon. The Seminoles will then return home to host both Air Force and Florida A&M on Sunday starting at noon at Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.

Florida State is 35-22 all-time against USF, winning its most recent matchup 6-1 in 2021. At the Florida Invitational earlier this season, several Seminoles saw success against the Bulls, earning six singles wins and two doubles victories at the event. FSU is 4-0 all-time against Air Force, winning the most recent matchup 7-0 in 2020. FSU also enters Sunday with a 24-0 record over Florida A&M dating back to 1981. Florida State won last year's match in a 7-0 sweep.

Sunday's match versus Air Force is a Military Appreciation match featuring the National Anthem sung by Kylie Painter of the FSU Student Veteran's Association, followed by a pre-match team challenge coin exchange. The match will also include a free hot dog bar while supplies last.

The Seminoles will look to build off their recent momentum. Florida State has won three matches in a row, most recently defeating Georgia State 4-0 and Mercer 6-1 last weekend. Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Eva Shaw added to their win total in doubles, earning two victories to improve their record to 5-0 this spring.

Live stats from all three matches will be available on Seminoles.com. Admission is free to all Florida State home tennis matches.
