TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State soccer junior midfielder Yuna McCormack has signed with Denver Summit of the National Women's Soccer League, the club announced on Saturday.

McCormack helped FSU win a national championship in her one season with the Seminoles. She also earned Academic All-District accolades this year.

McCormack is the fifth Florida State player to sign professionally this offseason after the team won their fifth NCAA championship in early December. She is joined in the NWSL by senior defender Heather Gilchrist (Bay FC), junior defender Mimi Van Zanten (San Diego Wave) and sophomore midfielder/forward Taylor Suarez (Angel City FC), while senior forward Giana Riley (Club América) signed in Liga MX Femenil.

"I'm incredibly excited to join Denver Summit FC and take this next step in my career," McCormack said to Denver. "The opportunity to be part of a new club with a clear vision and strong values is something that really stood out to me. I'm grateful for the trust the club has shown in me and can't wait to help build something special in Denver."

"We are all so happy for Yuna," FSU head coach Brian Pensky said. "What a great person and player! Yuna made two difficult decisions last winter, to leave Virginia and to come to Florida State instead of turning pro. Those decisions have paid off for her. Yuna has grown as a player in the last 12 months, and she leaves FSU as a major contributor to our National Championship team. And therefore, she became a highly coveted player by the expansion Summit."

McCormack will join former Seminole Carson Pickett (FSU 2012-15) on Denver's roster in the club's inaugural campaign.

A Seminole in 2025 after beginning her career at Virginia from 2023-24, McCormack was recognized on the 2025 Academic All-District Team and the 2023 ACC All-Freshman Team. She has earned All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll accolades throughout her career.

Hailing from Mill Valley, California, McCormack played in 50 career games with 48 starts at FSU and UVA. In nearly 3,3000 career minutes, she scored nine goals with 10 assists for 28 points with 74 shots, 26 on goal. Two of McCormack's goals were game-winners, both at Florida State.

In 2025 at FSU, McCormack was third on the team with six goals and fourth with 15 points. She recorded three assists, 29 shots and 11 shots on goal. McCormack's two game-winning goals were tied for fourth on the team as one came in the NCAA Tournament.

With Team USA internationally, McCormack won the 2018 U-15 CONCACAF Championship and was the U.S. DA Golden Ball winner and U.S. Soccer DA U-15 national champion. She has youth national team experience at the U-14/U-15, U-16, U-18/U-19 and U-20 levels.
