GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The team title at the Collegiate Invitational is one of the 26 tournament championships Florida State has won under Amy Bond, the winningest golf coach in Florida State history. Of those 26 championships, Bond has guided the Seminoles to team titles at 19 different events since leading her team to the championship of the Marsh Landing Invitational during the spring of 2015.

For Bond and the Seminoles, playing the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club is very special, and it's the perfect tournament to play in to begin their spring season.

In their first three appearances in the event, the Seminoles have won the team championship twice and finished fifth or better three times.

The Seminoles arrive at the 2026 Collegiate Invitational as the two-time defending champions. The event begins on Friday, Jan. 30 and concludes Saturday, Jan. 31. Florida State is looking to become the first three-time championship team in the history of the event. The Seminoles begin play at 9:45 a.m. on Friday. The teams will play 27 holes on both of the two days.

Babygrande Golf will live-stream the event along with player and coach interviews during and after day. The  event will be streamed on their website.

"Playing in the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club has proven to be a great event to begin our spring season in the last four years," said Bond. "The course is always magnificent, plays well each day, and the weather is always great. The organizers and volunteers are always so accommodating, and the University of Virginia does a great job of assembling a great group of teams that makes this one of the most competitive early-season tournaments."

Florida State begins the spring season ranked No. 28 nationally by the Clipp'd Scoreboard ranking service. Their national ranking has the defending ACC Champions ranked fourth in the ACC behind Wake Forest (No. 5), Duke (No. 12), and North Carolina (No. 14).

The Seminoles enjoyed a successful fall season with a second- place finish at the Jim West Challenge and a pair of sixth place finishes at the Folds of Honor Collegiate and the Schooner Fall Classic. Florida State's second place team finish at the Jim West included a pair of tied for seventh place individual finishes by junior Sophia Fullbrook and freshman Haruhi Nakatani.

Fullbrook led the Seminoles during the fall season with a pair of top-10 individual finishes and a career-low 70.89 stroke average in nine rounds during three events. Nakatani finished with a 72.11 stroke average also in nine rounds during three events played.

Florida State's lineup for the Collegiate Invitational includes Fullbrook, Elin Pudas Remler, Nakatani, Alexandra Gazzoli, and Layla Pedrique. Sophomore Freya Russell will play as an individual.

Fullbrook, who is ranked No. 56 nationally in the individual rankings by Clipp'd, is one of three Seminoles who are ranked among the top 175 collegiate golfers. Nakatani is ranked No. 125 while Gazzoli is ranked No. 169.

Florida State is the second-highest ranked team in the field of 12 nationally competitive teams.

Florida State is joined in the event by No. 19 Oklahoma State, No. 33 Houston, No.38 Virginia, No. 39 NC State, No. 41 TCU, No. 43 Colorado, Brigham Young, Texas San Antonio, Tennessee Chattanooga, TCU, Tulsa, and Washington.

As it opens its spring season, Florida State is excited to play host to two major championships during the season. The Seminoles play host to the Florida State Match-Up (March 22-24) and the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Championship (May 11-13) with both events being played at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee.
