CLEMSON, S.C. – The Florida State soccer team defeated No. 23 Clemson on Sunday in Clemson, South Carolina.
On a rain-filled afternoon at Historic Riggs Field, the Seminoles (5-1-3, 1-0-2 ACC) scored twice in the opening 10 minutes to remain unbeaten in ACC play. FSU stretches its overall unbeaten streak to five in a row, which includes two victories over top-25 teams. The Tigers (6-3-3, 2-2-1 ACC) suffered their first home loss since September 2025, snapping an eight-game unbeaten run.
Junior forwards Sam Erbach and Wrianna Hudson both scored their team-high-tying fourth goals of the season, with Erbach opening the scoring in the seventh minute and Hudson making it 2-0 less than three minutes later. Clemson's lone goal came in the 20th minute.
Erbach leads the team with 12 points and has 33 collegiate goals as she netted her first career ACC score. Hudson's second goal of ACC play gives her two game-winning goals overall in 2026, a team-high total that she also shares with Erbach. It's Hudson's 28th goal of her career, all coming in the Garnet and Gold.
Sophomore midfielder Nyanya Touray assisted on Erbach's goal, her third career assist and first of 2026. Senior midfielder Joelle Jung got the assist on Hudson's winner, also her first of the year and of her Seminole tenure, while it is her 15th career assist.
Hudson had a game-high-tying four shots and Erbach had three, all on goal for a game best. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Ockene made three saves in the win to improve to 4-1-3 in 2026. The Tigers' keeper also made three saves.
Clemson held a 10-9 advantage in shots, though shots-on-goal were 5-4 in Florida State's favor. Corner kicks also were 5-4 for the visitors, and both teams were called for seven fouls. Four yellow cards were shown, two for each side.
With the win, FSU improves to 26-8-4 all-time vs. Clemson and 10-5-2 in road affairs. The Seminoles have won 10 in a row in the series since a similar 2-1 win in 2019.
Erbach gave Florida State a 1-0 lead at 6:39. After having the ball headed to her over the midfield line, Touray took the ball downfield through several Clemson defenders before sending the ball up to Erbach at the top of the penalty arc. The Seminoles made it 2-0 at 9:22 off the foot of Hudson. Several passes near the team benches got the ball to Jung, who then sent the ball around a defender and up to Hudson near the corner of the penalty box. With a Tiger defender on her heels, Hudson went towards goal and fired a shot on frame from the corner of the goal box to the far post to beat the goalkeeper.
Clemson cut Florida State's lead in half at 19:33 to make it 2-1.
Erbach forced a save in the 26th minute. Clemson had the next three chances, but two were forced off target and another was blocked.
