TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State lacrosse team (3-8) matched a program high with 16 goals in a 16-2 win over Gardner-Webb (0-8) on Wednesday afternoon at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex.

Ten different Seminoles scored in the victory, led by sophomore midfielder Meg Kenny and senior attacker Lola Mancuso, who each recorded hat tricks.

Kenny, who leads Florida State with 18 goals, posted her second career hat trick and fourth multi-goal performance of the season. She added two assists for her second consecutive five-point outing and has now recorded a goal or assist in seven straight games.

Mancuso notched her first hat trick of the season and third multi-goal game, increasing her season total to 14 goals.

Sophomore midfielder Lydia Ward and freshman attacker Summer Harrell each added two goals, while Marleigh Sanders, Hannah Toole, Victoria Tomonto and Emily Barnette all scored their first goals of the season.

Defensively, the Seminoles were dominant, recording a program-record 14 caused turnovers. Lydia Ward led the effort with three caused turnovers, while Mary Grace Tibbs added two.

In goal, Julia Ward held Gardner-Webb scoreless over 40 minutes, making two saves while earning her first career win.

Florida State set the tone early as Kenny converted a free-position opportunity with 11:57 remaining in the first quarter. Following a Gardner-Webb yellow card, Sienna Casella found Kenny for a woman-up goal to make it 2-0. Brynn Perkins extended the lead to 3-0, and the Seminoles closed the quarter with three goals in the final 2:45 to take a 6-0 advantage.

Mancuso highlighted the second quarter, scoring twice to complete a first-half hat trick. Florida State held the Runnin' Bulldogs scoreless in the opening 30 minutes, carrying an 8-0 lead into halftime.

Lydia Ward opened the second half with a free-position goal, and just over a minute later, senior midfielder Kate Christos added another to make it 10-0. Toole added her first career goal during another woman-up opportunity for the 11th Seminole goal of the afternoon. With 4:08 left in the third, Perkins connected with Harrell for a behind-the-back finish, and the duo linked up again late in the quarter to push the lead to 13-0.

Florida State closed out the game with three more goals in the fourth quarter to secure the 16-2 victory.

The Seminoles will travel to No. 13 Notre Dame on Saturday for an ACC matchup. First draw is set for 1 p.m. on ACCNX.
