Florida State Travels to Face No. 13 Notre Dame Saturday

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State lacrosse team (3-8, 0-6 ACC) travels this weekend for an ACC matchup against No. 13 Notre Dame (6-3, 2-3) at Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.
The Seminoles enter the matchup following a dominant 16-2 victory over Gardner-Webb on Wednesday. The win marked Florida State's largest margin of victory this season and made the Seminoles just the third team from the ACC, and 17th in the NCAA, to hold an opponent to two or fewer goals in a game this year.
Notre Dame is coming off a 17-11 loss to No. 2 Stanford and has dropped two of its last three contests.
Florida State saw a pair of hat tricks in its last outing from senior attacker Lola Mancuso and sophomore midfielder Meg Kenny. Kenny accounted for five points in the win and leads the Seminoles in points (26), goals (18) and assists (8). She also carries a seven-game point streak into the weekend, dating back to the matchup against Army.
Offensively, the Seminoles rank second in the ACC in shot percentage, converting 99 goals on 245 attempts (.404). Florida State has also taken care of the ball, ranking 17th nationally in fewest turnovers per game.
Defensively, FSU has totaled 88 caused turnovers and 160 ground balls on the season. Sophomore midfielder Lydia Ward has made an impact across the field with 11 goals and has accounted for 19 draw controls.
In goal, Julia Ward has been a steady presence, recording a team-high 38 saves in over 300 minutes of action this season.
