TALLAHASSEE - The No. 13 Florida State softball team (43-7, 18-3) will travel to Gainesville to take on the No. 8 Florida Gators (45-7, 16-5) on Tuesday night at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. on the SEC Network with Eric Frede (Play by Play) and Danielle Lawrie (Color) on the call.Â
FSU has won eight out of the last nine meetings against the Gators and have won the last three meetings in Gainesville including a 12-3 run-rule win in 2024, which was the last time the two teams met in Gainesville.Â
The two teams met just last Wednesday in Tallahassee, and it was the Seminoles who prevailed again. The Noles were led by Isa Torres who hit two solo home runs against the Gators to lead the Noles offensively. FSU put together one of its best pitching and defense performances of the year against the top 10 Gators' offense. Jazzy Francik and Ashtyn Danley combined to allow just one run and were just the third pitching staff this year to hold the Gators to one run or less.Â
Since Wednesday, the Noles went on the road to a pesky Georgia Tech team and came out with three wins over the Yellow Jackets. On Friday, Jazzy Francik threw her third career no-hitter, and Isa Torres hit two more home runs to lead the Noles to a 4-0 win. On Saturday, the Noles jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for a 4-3 victory to secure the series. The Noles found a way to take down the Yellow Jackets 8-5 on Sunday in extra innings to secure the sweep. Down 5-4 and down to their final out, Anna Hinde hit a double off the wall to tie the game in the seventh and send the game into extras. Ashtyn Danley hit a leadoff homer in the top of the ninth to put the Noles on top, and Makenna Sturgis added two more runs to give the Noles the 8-5 win.Â
The Gators were off this weekend from SEC play and played a home-and-home with No. 21 UCF. The Gators won 7-0 in both Friday's and Saturday's games.Â
