Noles Host No. 25 Georgia Southern

TALLAHASSEE – Coming off an impressive 4-0 week against No. 23 Florida and No. 9 Louisville, Florida State (22-13) hosts No. 25 Georgia Southern (24-11) Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Dick Howser Stadium.
The game will stream on ACC Network Extra, while Eric Luallen will provide radio coverage via 100.7 FM in Tallahassee or the FSU Gameday app nationwide.

Jackson Nezuh will be making his first career start and 12th appearance as a Seminole. He won his first relief appearance of the season on February 20 against James Madison, when he threw 1.2 scoreless innings against the Dukes. He has twice thrown a career-high 2.0 innings, against Samford and Notre Dame.
Georgia Southern is one of the top teams in a competitive Sun Belt, boasting a No. 7 RPI and coming off back-to-back series wins against No. 10 Texas State and a sweep of Georgia State.
The Seminoles and Eagles have not met since 2014, a Georgia Southern win in the Tallahassee Regional. The last meeting in the regular season was in 1985, when FSU won all six games that year.
Of Note:
- Florida State pitching continues to lead the nation in strikeouts, with 445. The Seminoles have reached double-digit strikeouts in 28 of 35 games and are led by Parker Messick’s 94, the most in the country.
- Shortstop Jordan Carrion and left fielder Treyton Rank both had 4-for-4 games against Louisville last weekend. Rank finished a home run shy of the cycle in Friday’s 9-4 win, while Carrion hit his first home run as a Seminole in Saturday’s come-from-behind 10-9 win.
- Alex Toral has a home run in four of his past six games and leads FSU with 11 on the season. He has 48 career home runs, fifth-most in the country among active players.
- Florida State improved to 4-4 against ranked opponents after the sweep last week. After Georgia Southern, FSU is scheduled for weekend series against ranked opponents TCU and Miami.
