SOPHOMORE (2023):
Started all 14 weekends for the Seminoles, finishing 5-5 with a 5.09 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 69.0 innings pitched…made one relief appearance…with Conner Whittaker vs. Pitt (3/10), became the first FSU teammates with at least nine strikeouts in the same game…set a career-high with 14 strikeouts over 7.0 innings pitched against Clemson (4/6), the most strikeouts for an ACC pitcher and the eighth-most nationally in the regular season…no Nole pitcher has had more than 14 since 2006…did not allow a run against the Tigers, allowing four hits and two walks…also threw 7.0 innings against Mercer (5/5)…career-high 8.0 innings at Louisville (5/19) to earn the win and improve to 5-5 on the season…struck out nine hitters in back-to-back outings against Virginia Tech (4/21) and Notre Dame (4/28)…win at Notre Dame was FSU’s first in road ACC play…made first Friday night start at No. 8 TCU (2/24), shutting out the Horned Frogs over 5.2 innings.
FRESHMAN (2022):
Made 19 appearances and two starts, ending his freshman campaign with a 1-2 record and 5.60 ERA…struck out 41 batters in 27.1 innings pitched…made his FSU debut opening weekend against James Madison, striking out two batters in an inning…earned his first collegiate win in his first start, with 3.2 innings against Jacksonville on May 10…struck out a season-high five batters three times – against Notre Dame, Jacksonville and at Florida…pitched for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League, finishing with a 4.28 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 21 innings.
PERSONAL:
Graduated from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida…was awarded Baseball America All-American and Florida Times-Union First Coast Player of the Year his senior year of high school…finished No. 53 on the MLB Draft prospect rankings and was one of the highest-rated players to attend college in 2021…tossed a perfect game as a senior against Benedictine, striking out 13 in Bolles’ 11-0 win…led Bolles to the 3A final four, striking out 10 without allowing an earned run in six innings in the state semifinals…finished with a 0.63 ERA and 16.9 K/9, with 145 strikeouts and just 20 walks in 77.1 innings…parents are Matt and Elizabeth Baumeister…sister Anna…majoring in communication…born on July 10, 2002.
