JUNIOR (2023):
Hit .265 with 48 hits, 10 doubles and three triples…scored 24 runs with 26 RBI…14 walks and four stolen bases, with four sacrifice bunts…fielded .952 over 48 games with 47 starts at shortstop…had three of FSU’s 18 triples, most for the Noles since 2013…earned his second career walk-off hit against Pitt (3/10) with a single in the 12th inning…three three-hit games…two doubles on Opening Day against James Madison (2/17)…career-high four RBI against the Dukes (2/19)…had six total hits against Florida and is hitting .450 (9-for-20) against his former team…drew three walks and had an RBI single in FSU’s 4-3 win over No. 1 Wake Forest (5/14)…was 2-for-6 with a run at North Florida (4/19)…also made his FSU pitching debut against the Ospreys, the final of a school-record 10 pitchers that night.
SOPHOMORE (2022):
Hit .280 with 58 hits, 10 doubles, one triple and two home runs while playing and starting the final 56 games of the season…had 28 RBI and 21 walks with a team-high 11 stolen bases (most for a Seminole since 2019)…six total sacrifices (three sac fly, three sac bunt) led the team…three-run home run – first as a Seminole – came in the finale against No. 9 Louisville, giving FSU a 7-5 lead in a 10-9 win…set season highs in runs (3), hits (4) and RBI (3) against Louisville…also homered against Miami in FSU’s 6-4 win…drew a season-best three walks at Georgia Tech…stole two bases against Notre Dame…walk-off single in 12th inning to beat Stetson…on his 21st birthday, tied the game against Georgia Southern with a two-run double in the ninth (FSU won in 11)…10-game hitting streak from April 12-April 30.
PERSONAL:
Played his freshman season at Florida, hitting .244 with 21 hits and eight RBI over 37 games…made 24 starts up the middle at shortstop and second base…hit his first career home run against No. 3 Ole Miss…had seven relief appearances on the mound, with one save against Jacksonville on March 13…did not allow a run and struck out eight over 6.2 innings…was No. 179 on the Perfect Game Class of 2020 prospect list…2020 Perfect Game preseason All-Region first team…parents are Jorge Carrion and Wendy Gonzales…brother Kobe…dad was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1995 MLB Draft and played three seasons in the minor leagues…majoring in interdisciplinary social science…born on April 20, 2001.
