Before FSU
Hudson comes to Tallahassee as a five-star by On3 and is ranked the No. 5 overall player in the 2026 class. Hudson was the 2025 and 2026 Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year a five-time All-State honoree. Hudson holds the Kentucky state record for career hits and home runs and also set the Kentucky state record for hits in a season with 93. Hudson has had great success with the USA Softball U-18 National Team this fall where she helped Team USA to a gold medal at the 2025 WBSC U-19 World Cup Finals. During the World Cup, Hudson went 9-for-16 (.563) with a home run, three RBI and 10 runs scored and was named to the All-World Team. Hudson was also a great basketball player as she has scored over 1,600 career points on the court and was a two-time first team all-region honoree. Academically, Hudson earned KHSAA Three-Time First Team Academic All-State honors and holds a 4.0 GPA. She plans on majoring in psychology at FSU. Hudson is the daughter of Todd and Caroline Hudson. McLaine has one sister, Mallory, who Miss Kentucky in 2023 and finished third in Miss America in 2024. Hudson's uncle, Travis, is the head women's volleyball coach at Western Kentucky.Â
