Freshman (2025):
Played in 38 games and made 15 starts for the Garnet and Gold...Hit .371 in 62 at bats with two home runs and 21 RBI for the Seminoles...Had one at bat during the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge (2/6-2/8)... Hit her first career hit against Missouri and recorded another hit against Ohio State during the course of the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational (2/13-2/16)... Picked up one run, one hit, and one RBI between three games in the JoAnne Graf Classic (2/20-2/22)... Had four RBIs, four hits, and scored four runs throughout the duration of the Dugout Club Classic (2/27-3/1)... Racked up one hit and one run against Jacksonville (3/5)... Played two games during the Jane Sanders Classic, notching two hits, one RBI, and one run (3/7-3/9)... In a double header against Portland State, contributed two RBIs, one hit, and one run (3/11)... McKenzie was named the 2022, 2023 and 2024 PNJ Hitter of the Year and while also being part of the FHSAA 6A All-State Team and a PGF All-American...She was named a MaxPreps First Team All-American...Was ranked the fourth-best player in the country by Extra Inning Softball...She was named to the FHSAA All-Academic Team and holds a 4.3 GPA....Shelby comes from a long line of Division 1 talent...Her mother, Amy McKenzie, was a softball player at Alabama, her brother, Jackson McKenzie, currently plays baseball at Mississippi State, her uncles, Andy and Matt Bernard, also played collegiate baseball at Alabama, and her grandfather, Terry Bernard, was a baseball player at Miami.
