WORLD AMATEUR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Represented Scotland in the World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore in October 2025…competed in the Espirito Santo Trophy, won by the United States…carded scores of 80-78-82-76 for a 72-hole total of 316, finishing tied for 94th individually…Scotland finished 31st in the team standings.

Represented Scotland at Women’s Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa Golf Club, England (Aug 6-8)…teamed with Rosie Maguire, fell to England’s Nellie Ong and Lily Hurst, 2&1 in doubles…lost 1Up to England’s Amelia Wan in singles…teamed with Rosie again, fell to Wales’ Carys Worby and Emily James, 3&1…tied with Isobel Kelly (Wales) in singles…Wales defeated Scotland, 11-10, on day two…Friday Foursomes with Rosie fell 5&4 to Ireland’s Anna Dawson and Rebekah Gardner…finished second individually at Boyd Quaich Women’s Championship at St. Andrews…led after first round with 73, first 54 holes at 73-71-72 (216)…16 birdies and one eagle in first three rounds…finished second with 73-71-72-77 (293), runner-up to Eilidh Henderson (291)…tied for 72nd in European Ladies Team Championship stroke play with 77-73 (150)…Scotland finished 18th in team standings…1-2 in match play…helped lead Scotland to 3-2 win over Finland in first round match play…fell to Slovenia (3&2) and tied Poland (2.5-2.5)…European Ladies Individual Championship – 77-72-71 over three rounds, missed cut, finished tied 78th.

Graduated Marr College in summer 2024…multi-sport athlete, represented county as swimmer…switched from swimming to golf, also excelled in field hockey…member of the Scottish Women and Girls High-Performance Squad and a Sport Scotland adopted athlete…gained her first full international cap representing Scotland at the 2024 European Championships in Spain…has represented Scotland U16’s in 2020-2022 and U18 Scotland Girls team at the European Girls Team Championships and Home International in 2022 and 2023…excelled at all levels (Club, County, Country) and was the first female Junior Captain and Junior Champion of Royal Troon Golf Club in 2023…twice won her county girls championship and was the youngest county women’s champion at age 15…earned 18 wins and 20 additional top-10s in 61 multi-round/WAGR-ranked tournaments during high school…highlights include winning the 2022 Scottish U16 Open Strokeplay Championship, runner-up in the 2023 Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Championship finals at Quinta do Lago (shot course record 66 in final round), and runner-up in the 2024 Scottish Ladies Amateur at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club…owns two single-round course records (Luffness Golf Club – 69, Powfoot Golf Club – 67)...first team in high school as sophomore, junior, and senior…led team to national finals in sophomore and senior years…recognized as best golfer (male or female) by winning Scott Roxburgh Memorial Trophy in sophomore, junior, and senior years…graduation recognition as Senior Sports Performer of the Year…graduated with 3.3 GPA…excels in English, creative writing…mentor and ambassador for Stephen Gallacher Foundation, fundraising for Children in Need.

Born March 31, 2006…Freya is the daughter of Craig and Gaynor Russell…has an older brother, Fraser, and a beloved Black Labrador, Tilly…comes from a golfing family…Freya’s older brother is the current captain of The University of The Highlands and Islands Golf Team whose home course is the world famous Royal Dornoch…her dad and Uncles all played College Golf in Great Britain (her dad and uncle Neil played for the University of Cambridge, while her Uncle Gary Captained the University of St Andrews to win both the Scottish and British University Championships…her Mum took up the game later in life so she could spend time with her family…the Russell’s all play their golf at Royal Troon Golf Club…nicknamed the “Ice Queen”...major is exploratory.
