BATON ROUGE, La. (seminoles.com) – Junior All-American Beatrice Wallin shot a 1 under par 71 in the second round and is one of three Seminoles with 7 over par scores of 149 after two rounds of the LSU Tiger Classic at the University Club.  The Seminoles are in 13th place in the team standings as they move into the third round of the power-packed tournament that includes 12 of the top 45 ranked teams in the nation including the No. 4 ranked Seminoles.

LSU, the host team, leads the team standings with a 9 under par team total for the 36 holes played on their home course.  The Tigers and Vanderbilt were the only two squads in the 14-team field who finished the first day of two rounds with under par scores.  LSU holds a nine-stroke lead over the Commodores.  Hannah Levi of Mississippi State and Carla Tejedo Mulet of LSU are tied for the individual lead heading into the final round.  Levi and Mulet have carded scores of 4 under par 140

“We simply did not play our best today,” said Head Coach Amy Bond.  “This team, and these players, has been resilient and that’s what we all expect tomorrow.”

Wallin was masterful in the second round as she carded six birdies while playing her fifth round of high-level golf in the last seven days.  She totaled four birdies on her front nine and two more on her back nine.  Wallin finished in a tie for 10th place in the Second Annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur championship over the weekend – the second time she has placed in the top-10 of the event.  Wallin is the only golfer to finish in the top-10 in the first two ANWA – where the final round is played on the famed course at Augusta National.

Wallin, along with freshmen Alice Hodge and Taylor Roberts, is tied for 29th in the individual standings with one round left to be played.  Hodge and Roberts carded identical scores of 75-74 for two rounds totals of 149.
