GREENSBORO, N.C. – Adriaan Wildschutt picked up his first ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week honor of the outdoor season the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
“Adriaan ran a spectacular race out at Stanford. It’s not too often you get the chance to call yourself the NCAA leader in an event, and he has set himself up well for the postseason,” Head Coach Bob Braman said.
Wildschutt broke the ACC record and the school record in the 10,000m run late Friday night at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Stanford, Calif. Wildschutt’s time of 27:38.54 is the fastest time in the NCAA this season and puts him No. 12 on the NCAA all-time list.
Wildschutt and the rest of the Florida State track and field team will be in action May 12-14 at the ACC Outdoor Championships in Durham, N.C.
