FSU Travels To Austin For ITA Kickoff Weekend

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team travels to Austin, Texas, to play in the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted by Texas, facing SMU on Friday and either No. 6 Texas or Baylor on Saturday.
The Seminoles are 1-0 in 2024 and are coming off a spectacular 4-3 win over Old Dominion in the home opener last Tuesday.
Sophomore Kristyna Lavickova came up clutch in her first singles victory of the season and defeated Allison Isaacs 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 to give the Seminoles their first victory of the 2024 season.
Senior Ellie Schoppe had a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win over Alexandra Viktorovich, and Anna Arkadianou earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Kira Matushkina.
Freshman Laura Putz is 2-0 on the season, as she won 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 over Ulyana Romanova and 6-2 over Matushkina and Romanova in doubles with Millie Bissett.
SMU is 1-2 on the season and is coming off a 4-3 win over No. 17 Vanderbilt. The Mustangs are led by graduate student Taylor Johnson, who has earned three total wins in the 2023 spring season.
Friday's match begins at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. The Seminoles will then face Baylor or Texas on Saturday. Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.
