Warley Ties Career High; Seminoles Fall On Road In ACC Play

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Jalen Warley scored a career-high tying 23 points but four Louisville players scored in double figures and Florida State fell to the Cardinals by a 101-92 score at the KFC YUM! Center. Brandon Huntley-Hatfield scored a career-high 29 points and Ty-Laur Johnson scored 27 to lead the Cardinals to the victory.
Warley tied his career-high as he made his first eight field goal attempts, was a perfect five of five from the free throw line, pulled down a team-high six rebounds, earned three assists, one steal and one blocked shot. He made nine of his 10 field goal attempts during the game.
Primo Spears scored his Florida State high of 17 points, while Jamir Watkins and Cam Corhen added 14 points each. Darin Green Jr. led the Seminoles with four steals while both Spears and Watkins totaled two steals each.
In addition to leading the team in steals, Green Jr. led the Seminoles from beyond the 3-point arc with two long range shots made. He has now made 351 career 3-point shots.
A total of 11 Seminoles played with nine entering their name in the scoring column, and 10 grabbing at least one rebound. The Seminoles outrebounded the Cardinals by a 34-33 margin including by a 12-9 edge on the offensive boards. Florida State outscored Louisville in the paint (54-50) and off of the bench (37-29).
Florida State outscored the Cardinals in the second half by a 57-54 margin after trailing by a 47-35 score at halftime. The Seminoles shot better than 58 percent from the field in the second half as they nearly came back from a deficit to win the game. Florida State trailed by only five with 40 seconds remaining to be played but Louisville outscored the Seminoles by a 5-1 margin as the clock sped towards the final buzzer.
Throughout the course of the game, the Seminoles totaled 11 steals and forced 18 turnovers. Florida State scored 19 points off Louisville's 18 turnovers. With 11 steals, the Seminoles maintained their status as the ACC team leader in steals.
Baba Miller tied his career high of three blocks which he also accomplished in Florida State's victory over Wake Forest on January 9, 2024.
