Florida State Sweeps Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA – The No. 23 Florida State women's tennis team (15-6, 9-3 ACC) swept No. 71 Virginia Tech (8-11, 3-9) 4-0 at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Friday. The win increased FSU's current win streak to eight straight matches, tied for third-longest in program history.
The Seminoles secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 and a 6-2 win at No. 1. Laura Putz and Cade Cricchio's match was tied at 4-4 when the doubles point was clinched.
Kristyna Lavickova added to the lead with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Erika Cheng at No. 5 singles to make the match 2-0. This win extended Lavickova's win streak to nine straight matches in singles.
The 41st-ranked Ellie Schoppe earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Kate Andreini at No. 2 singles to put the Seminoles ahead 3-0.
Sophomore Millie Bissett clinched the team win with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Tamara Itzhaki at No. 4 singles.
