TALLAHASSEE – The nationally prominent Florida State Women's Golf Team will play nine high-level regular season tournaments – including the 12th Annual Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course – as 15th-year Head Coach Amy Bond released the Seminoles' 2024-25 schedule. The Seminoles open their fall season at the third-annual Folds of Honor Collegiate at the American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Mich., and begin their spring season at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The Seminole women will play alongside the Florida State men in two events – the Folds of Honor Collegiate and the Jackson T. Stephens Cup -- with both events coming during an action-packed fall season.
"We have added some new tournaments to go with our traditional ones," said Bond. "One of the new tournaments has special meaning. The Folds of Honor tournament will raise funds to help family members of fallen soldiers. The other new tournaments are the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and the Briars Creek Invitational."
The Folds of Honor Collegiate has expanded this year to 15 men's teams and 15 women's teams with 22 different colleges and universities representing the 30 teams in the combined field. Folds awarded over 9,300 scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year, with 471 of those going to the schools playing in the 2024 Collegiate.
The field of 15 men's and 15 women's teams will feature some of the elite college teams in the country, including 11 teams ranked in their respective national Top 25 polls, as well as the Service Academies, a Division II team on each side, and a men's and women's HBCU.
The 2024 Folds of Honor Collegiate is co-hosted by Michigan State and Florida State and includes many of the top programs in the country.
The 54-hole event will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel, and simulcast on both Peacock and Golf Channel's digital platforms.
The Seminoles' four-event fall season includes the Folds of Honor (Sept. 9-11), the Schooner Fall Classic (Sept. 21-23), the Stephens Cup (Oct. 21-23), and the Landfall Tradition (Oct. 25-27).
Beginning with the Collegiate Invitational, Florida State is scheduled for five events during its traditional spring season – The Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1), the Moon Invitational (Feb. 16-18), the Briar's Creek Invitational (March 10-11), the Old Barnwell Derby Invitational (March 17-18) and the Florida State Match Up (March 21-23).
"We are super-excited about the Match Up this season," said Bond. "The Seminole Legacy has really become one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and the teams that will play in the event illustrate that the Match Up is now a destination tournament in college golf, and we are very proud of that fact."
The Seminoles' run through April and May Madness begins with the ACC Championship (April 17-20) at the Sedgefield Country Club (Greensboro, N.C.), the NCAA Regional Championships (May 5-7) (Charlottesville, Va., Columbus, Ohio, Golf Canyon, Ariz., Lexington, Ky., Lubbock, Tex., Norman, Okla.) and the NCAA Championship Finals (May 16-21) at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa (Carlsbad, Calif.).
"We are excited for what is in store for the season and feel like these tournaments will prepare us to play against any team on any course," said Bond. "We do get two opportunities to play alongside our men's team at the Folds of Honor and Jackson T. Stephens Cup which will be a lot of fun for our entire program."
