TALLAHASSEE - The No. 15 Florida State men's tennis team is set to host a top-20 battle with No. 18 Alabama on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Indoor Tennis Courts.

FSU and Alabama will meet for a second straight season after the Seminoles won a 4-3 road thriller in 2024. Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc completed a dominant 6-1 third set on Court 1 to seal the final point.

The Seminoles have defeated the Crimson Tide in four consecutive regular season meetings with two wins in Tallahassee during that stretch.

Florida State holds a 7-2 record, marking the third of the last four seasons with a 75% or higher winning percentage through the opening nine matches. The Seminoles have achieved five clinching sweeps including a 4-0 victory over Florida with six home victories in January, the most home wins in a month since January 2019.

Jamie Connel won his team-leading sixth singles victory of the spring with a 6-2, 6-2 straight-sets win on Court 2 to clinch the 4-0 sweep over Florida last week. Connel leads FSU with 14 singles victories and has won seven of his last 10 matches.

Corey Craig returned to Court 1 after an injury sidelined him for the past two weeks, the All-American is undefeated at 2-0 in singles play in 2025. Joshua Dous-Karpenschif and Azariah Rusher have found great rhythm with each player winning five singles matches on the back courts.

Jan Sebesta and Connel have been a force on Court 3 in doubles play with three wins in their last four outings, winning 22 of their last 30 games. Dous-Karpenschif and Erik Schiessl are unbeaten on Court 2 with four consecutive wins and two wins over ranked teams.

The newest ITA rankings were released Wednesday. Craig checked in at No. 15 while Connel remained in the top-30 at No. 27. Alex Bulte and Youcef Rihane ascended into the top-five as the No. 4 doubles team in the nation while Connel and Craig were ranked at No. 46. Florida State marked its seventh consecutive week in the top-15 of the team rankings as it checked in at No. 15.
