The Seminoles will be one of 18 teams competing over three days in the 54-hole event
TALLAHASSEE – After a one-month hiatus from competition, the No. 17-ranked Florida State women's golf team returns to action with the Seminoles traveling to Wilmington, North Carolina to participate in the 24th annual Landfall Tradition.
Â
The event, hosted by UNC Wilmington, will be held at Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course, playing at Par 72 at 6,223 total yards. The field features 18 teams, including seven that are currently ranked in the top 25.
Â
The 54-hole tournament will be played over the course of three days – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – with one round each day. Florida State will be paired with No. 6 Duke and Clemson for round one, beginning on hole 10. Live stats will be available at Scoreboard.
Â
The rest of the field will include No. 1 Wake Forest, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan State, No. 25 Kentucky, East Carolina, SMU, No. 7 South Carolina, South Florida, NC State, No. 2 Auburn, UCF, No. 19 Alabama, North Carolina, and host UNCW.
Â
The Seminoles were last on the course in the Schooner Fall Classic, an event they shot 11-under (829) to place third in the 16-team field in Norman, Oklahoma.
Â
Sophomore Haruhi Nakatani, who is currently ranked No.23 in the country, shot under par in all three rounds (65-69-69) to finish in a tie for fourth at seven-under 203. It marked her second top five finish of the fall. Through three events this fall, she owns a stroke average of 70.44 with a team-best seven rounds under par.
Â
Meanwhile, teammate Louise Landgraf tied for 14th, anchored by a bogey-free three-under 67 in round two followed by six-under 64 in round three. The freshman became the first Seminole in program history to shoot 64 in a single round. She currently has a stroke average of 72.00.
Â
Florida State's lineup will also include Sophia Fullbrook and Alexandra Gazzoli, both of whom played in the 2024 Landfall Tradition. Fullbrook, a preseason All-American, has a stroke average of 72.33 this fall while Gazzoli has a stroke average of 72.56. Both juniors have registered four rounds at or under par.
Â
The fifth Seminole in the lineup will be freshman Kayla Bryant, who will make her collegiate debut.
Â
This will mark the 10th time Florida State will compete in LandÂfall Tradition. The Seminoles played in the event's inaugural season in 2002 and have also done so in three of the last five years.
Â
The last time came in 2024 when Florida State overcame a five-shot deficit in the final round to overtake Duke, winning the event by one stroke over the Blue Devils. All-American Lottie Woad would shoot six-under over 54 holes, claiming co-medÂalist honors. In doing so, she became the second Seminole to win the event with the other being Charlotte Heath who did it in 2022.
