FSU Faces Road Test at No. 23 Clemson

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State soccer team travels to No. 23 Clemson on Sunday, October 4, at 3:30 p.m. ET, for a matchup on ACC Network at Historic Riggs Field in Clemson, South Carolina.

Unbeaten in their last four games, the Seminoles are 4-1-3 on the season, 1-0-2 at home and 3-1-1 on the road. FSU is 0-0-2 in league play after a goalless draw at Louisville on September 27. The team is 1-0-0 against top-25 teams.
Florida State has scored 15 goals on 12 assists with 93 shots, 50 on frame, and has allowed seven goals on 81 shots for a 0.88 goals-against average and a .781 save percentage. FSU's goals have come from eight different players, five of them newcomers, and seven players have at least one assist, six of them first-year Seminoles.
Individually, junior midfielder Sam Erbach has a team-high-tying three goals with a squad-best four assists, nine points and 18 shots. Junior forward Wrianna Hudson also has three goals and 18 shots, leads the team with 13 shots on goal and is third in the NCAA with a .722 shot accuracy. Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Ockene has three shutouts with 21 saves and a 3-1-3 record. She has earned one ACC Goalkeeper of the Week honor this year.
SERIES HISTORY VS. CLEMSON
FSU is 25-8-4 all-time vs. Clemson, including 12-3-1 at home, 9-5-2 on the road and 4-0-1 at a neutral site. Florida State owns a 19-6-3 advantage in ACC competition. The Seminoles have won nine in a row since a 2-1 road victory in 2019, with a 3-0 home triumph in 2024 the most recent matchup. The two squads also met twice in the 2023 postseason, with a 2-1 win in the ACC championship game and a 2-0 victory in the College Cup en route to FSU's fourth NCAA title.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Clemson is 6-2-3 on the season and 2-1-1 in ACC action, tied for third place with seven points. The Tigers are 4-0-2 at home and 2-2-1 on the road. The team is coming off a 3-3 draw to Boston College on September 27, a result that followed back-to-back ACC wins, vs. Syracuse and at Miami. League play opened with a 2-1 loss at Notre Dame.

Florida State went on the road and tied Louisville 0-0 on September 27. Returning to the pitch for the first time in 16 days, the Seminoles shut out their opponent for the fourth time this season as the Cardinals extended their unbeaten streak to 10 in a row. While UofL remains unbeaten at home in 18 of its last 19 games, the Cards were held to a draw for just the third time in that stretch.
Louisville had nine shots to Florida State's three and both teams had one shot on goal. Corners were 8-2 for UofL and fouls were even at nine each. One card was shown in the match, a yellow to the Cardinals. Junior midfielder Shaneil Buckley had two of the Seminoles' shots and one shot on goal. Hudson also posted a shot. Ockene saved the only shot on goal she faced and earned her third clean sheet of the season and eighth of her career.
