Harrell Leads Seminoles with Four Goals Against Virginia Tech

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's lacrosse team (2-8, 0-6 ACC) fell to Virginia Tech (6-4, 2-3) 15–9, on Saturday at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex.
Sophomore midfielder Meg Kenny set a career high and single-game program record with four assists and recorded five total points.
Freshman attacker Summer Harrell led Florida State with a career-best four goals, while freshman attacker Amelia Brite notched the first hat trick of her career.
FSU players have now recorded three four-goal performances and four three-goal performances this season, contributing to 20 total individual multi-goal games.
Kenny continues to lead Florida State with 21 points, including a team-high 15 goals and six assists. Harrell follows closely behind with 19 points on 14 goals and five assists.
Brite's hat trick brings her to double-digit goals on the season with 10.
Virginia Tech jumped out to an early lead, scoring six goals in the opening quarter. Florida State responded in the second quarter with three goals, including an 8-meter strike by Alyssa Deacy, a cut into the crease from Brite, and a woman-up goal by Harrell. The Hokies scored four goals in the period to take a 10–3 lead into halftime.
The Seminoles continued to attack in the third quarter, scoring three more goals to cut the deficit. Harrell recorded two goals in the quarter, while Brite added another off an assist from Lydia Ward. Virginia Tech held a 13-6 lead after three.
Kenny began the fourth quarter scoring on a free position opportunity. After two Hokie goals, Brite completed her hat trick with an assist from Brynn Perkins. Harrell later added her fourth goal of the afternoon on another woman-up opportunity with under three minutes remaining. The Seminoles outscored the Hokies 3–2 in the final frame.
Florida State remains at home to host Gardner-Webb on Wednesday in its Military Appreciation game. First draw is scheduled for noon.
