Seminoles Host Gardner-Webb in Midweek Action

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State lacrosse team (2-7) hosts Gardner-Webb (0-7) on Wednesday afternoon at the Seminole Lacrosse Complex for its Military Appreciation game.
The Seminoles opened the season with back-to-back nonconference victories over Stetson and Kennesaw State and look to return to the win column as they close out their current homestand against Gardner-Webb.
In their last outing, the Seminoles battled Virginia Tech and matched the Hokies in scoring over the final three quarters. Sophomore midfielder Meg Kenny contributed a single-game program-record four assists while freshman attacker Summer Harrell scored a career-high four goals in the effort.
Florida State has continued to show offensive growth throughout the season and is led by Kenny, who leads the team with 21 points on 15 goals and six assists through 10 games.
Harrell has been another key offensive option, totaling 19 points on 14 goals and five assists. Freshman Amelia Brite has added 10 goals on the year, while sophomore Lydia Ward and freshman Brynn Perkins have each recorded 12 points to help balance the Seminoles' scoring attack.
Defensively, Florida State has recorded 141 ground balls and forced 74 caused turnovers across its first 10 contests this season.
In goal, Julia Ward and Catrina Tobin have split time for the Seminoles, combining for 68 saves this season. Ward currently holds a .391 save percentage to lead the team.
