Fullbrook Leads Noles in Opening Round of NCAA Championship

CARLSBAD, Calif. Â -Â Â The Florida State women's golf team opened play at the 2026 NCAA Women's Golf National Championship on Friday, which is being held at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California.

The Seminoles were led by Sophia Fullbrook and Alexandra Gazzoli, who competed at nationals last season. Fullbrook made three birdies on the day, turning in a round of 2-under 70. Gazzoli also carded three birdies, finishing 1-under, 71 and is tied for 13th.

 Elin Pudas Remler was 3-over, 75, one stroke ahead of Haruhi Nakatani at 4-over, 76.

Florida State finished the round 4-over, 292 and sits in 24th place in the clubhouse with teams still out on the course in the afternoon wave.

The Seminoles will play in the afternoon wave in the second round on Saturday with No. 16 Oklahoma State and No. 18 Arizona State, starting at 2:50 p.m. ET from the first hole. Tee times for the third round will be decided based on results of the first two rounds. The top 15 teams from the first three rounds will advance to the final round to stroke play on Monday, and the top eight will compete in match play, starting on May 26.

The first three rounds of stroke play will be streamed through Babygrande and live scoring will be available on Scoreboard. Â Stroke play on Monday will air on the Golf Channel.
