Florida State will be one of 16 teams competing March 19-21 in Norman, Oklahoma

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 21-ranked Florida State women's golf team continues its busy fall schedule this weekend as the Seminoles participate in the 14th annual Schooner Fall Classic, hosted by the University of Oklahoma at Belmar Golf Club.

It is a big field comprised of 16 teams and 93 total golfers that will compete in Norman, Oklahoma. The 54-hole tournament will be played over the course of three days with one round each day – Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Live stats will be available at Scoreboard.

For round one, Florida State will be grouped with host Oklahoma as well as Virginia Tech. Other teams in the field include Georgia, No. 27 TCU, Baylor, Kansas State, Houston, Iowa State, Tulane, Texas State, Arkansas State, Tulsa, No. 29 UCF, No. 10 Oklahoma State, and Oral Roberts.

This will be the third tournament in the span of two weeks for the Seminoles who are coming off a 5th-place finish at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup in Frisco, Texas. Florida State shot 21-over for the tournament, falling two strokes behind Texas.

Despite not being able to crack the top four and advance to match play, the Seminoles defeated preseason No. 1 and defending national champion Stanford.

Haruhi Nakatani and Alexandra Gazzoli tied for the top finish by a Seminole as both shot five-over 221 to tie for 13th at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. Through two tournaments, Nakatani anchors Florida State in stroke average (71.83) with four rounds at or under par and a team-high 23 birdies made. Meanwhile, Gazzoli registered her seventh career top 20 finish as a Seminole (fourth best all-time).

Both Seminoles will be in the lineup along with Sophia Fullbrook, Elin Pudas Remler, and Louise Landgraf.

Florida State has played in 12 of the 13 Schooner Fall Classics since the event started in 2013. The only season the Seminoles did not participate was during the reduced 2020-21 season. They have had seven top five finishes at the event including two team victories in 2016 and 2022.
