Appeared in two games in his first season at Florida State working a combined 1.0 inning over that span…made his collegiate debut in a mid-week match-up against North Georgia (4/18)….threw a scoreless inning in relief as he faced the minimum…second outing came in the series opener against Maryland (5/5)…played summer ball in 2012 with the Duluth Huskies of the Northwoods League.
2011:
Received a redshirt in 2011.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Left-handed ace for Marist High, which captured the Georgia AAAA state championship in 2010…posted an 8-1 record with a 1.86 ERA as a senior…struck out 83 in 52 innings of work…fanned 10 in opening game of state finals series, recording a 5-0 shutout win…was voted team captain and the top pitcher…played two seasons of varsity ball.

Son of Pete and Jeannae Geist…father played shortstop at Georgia Tech, where current FSU director of baseball operations Chip Baker was an assistant…dad was a third-round draft choice by the Los Angeles Dodgers…member of the 3.0 GPA Club at FSU (Spring & Fall 2011, Spring 2012)…majoring in Marketing…born April 21, 1992.
