Freshman who competed in cross country and track & field at Florida 4A Sarasota High…scoring member of the 2015 4A state cross country runner-up team…excelled on the track in both the 800 and 1600.
2017-18
Cross Country: Recorded a pair of promising results in her only starts of the year…opened with 19:37.9 at the FSU Invitational; faster than five of her six previous 5k races at Apalachee Regional Park…first 6k XC race came at Crimson Classic where she checked in at 23.29.6. Indoor: Did not compete. Outdoor: Toed the line for a pair of 1500m races, including the FSU Relays, where she notched an impressive 4:47.52.
Personal
Was 2017 track & field MVP for Sarasota High, winning district 800 title…finished in the top three in the 1600 at the district meet three times…owns personal-bests of 2:20.90 (800), 5:16.63 (1600) and 19:31.0 for 5k in cross country…was AICE Scholar Award winner…in addition to running was a sponsored skateboarder…is a cancer survivor…daughter of Joanne and Lionel Whitney…plans to major in dietetics…born Aug. 31, 1998.
