Had another solid fall season in her second year as a Seminole, earning five victories...earned her first singles win in her first match of the season at the ITA All-American Championhsips...Earned two victories at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships to advance to the round of 16...Earned a spot in the singles final of her flight at the UNF Invitational after earning two more singles victories...Won her first two doubles matches with Cade Cricchio to advance to the round of 16 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships...Won her flight in doubles at the UNF Invitational with partner Kristyna Lavickova.
SPRING 2025
Began the spring season winning eight straight matches...Earned her first-ranked victory of the season over No. 85 Sophia Biolay of UCF...Won her first conference match as a Seminole at No. 45 Syracuse...Defeated Whitley Pate of No. 36 Wake Forest to cap off a 15-10 freshman season in singles...Won three of her last four doubles matches with partners Maelie Monfils and Laura Putz.
FALL 2024
Earned her first win as a Seminole, winning 6-3, 6-2 over Sarah Branicki of Georgia in the qualifying singles round of 32 at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships...Deatherage went on to win 6-1, 6-1 over Josefine Falster of USF in the main draw singles round of 64...Began the UNF Invitational with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Hannah Rylatt of UCF and then earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Charlotte Ruud of USF in the semifinals...She capped the weekend winning 7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-3 over the former fifth-ranked world junior player Nikola Daubnerova of Florida in the Flight A finals...Earned two doubles victories at the UNF Invitational with doubles partner Maelie Monfils.
BEFORE FLORIDA STATE
A five-star recruit out of Maitland, Florida…ranked No. 20 in her class and No. 6 in the state of Florida…recently won the 2023 Bobby Curtis Sectional Championships in the 18U Division.

Born January 8, 2006…Mary is the daughter of Katie and Clay Deatherage…has one sister… I would love to be able to play pro tennis after college but I’m also interested in something in business…hobbies are to read, cook and travel with family.
